Fraud Protection Notice:

Please note that all email correspondence from the U.S. Department of State will come from addresses with the domain "@state.gov." Furthermore, all U.S. government email correspondence will come from a domain terminating in ".gov." We have received reports that fraudulent emails have been sent on behalf of U.S. Department of State regarding a "Diversity Visa Lottery Program." These emails originate from and direct correspondents to non-government email domains, such as "@yahoo.com" or "@hotmail.com" or "@gmail.com." If you believe you have received a fraudulent email correspondence or have know of any information that you believe would help us to stop fraud, please contact madrid_stopfraud@state.gov. Your information will be treated anonymously and will be kept strictly confidential.


Visa Waiver Program (VWP)

As Spain is part of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), Spanish citizens may travel to the United States for tourism or business for 90 days or less without obtaining a visa. Not all countries participate in the VWP. Some restrictions apply. Learn more about visa free travel: Visa Waiver Program.

What if you receive the response "Travel Not Authorized"?

  A New Fee for Visa Waiver Travelers (ESTA).
As of September 8, 2010, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will charge a fee of $14 to cover the administrative costs of the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) program. The fee will be payable online, and will be required for future ESTA authorizations. It will not affect previous and current ESTA authorizations.

— IMPORTANT  INFORMATION FOR VISA APPLICANTS: CHANGE IN APPLICATION FEE —

If your visa application appointment is on or after June 4, 2010, the visa application fee will be:
• 115 EUR (140 USD) for visitor visa for business/pleasure (B-1/B-2),
exchange visitor visa (J), student visa (F), non-academic student visa (M),
journalist visa (I) and crew visa (C-1/D)
• 123 EUR (150 USD) for all types of petition based temporary work visas
(H,L,O,P,Q and R categories)
• 320 EUR (390 USD) for treaty trader (E-1) and treaty investor (E-2)
visas
• 287 EUR (350 USD) for fianc้ (K) visas

Note: Applicants who paid the old visa application fee of 98.25 EUR but have an appointment on or after June 4th will have to pay the difference to match the new visa application fee and submit both payment receipts from Santander bank at the time of the application.

PROPOSED INCREASE IN NON-IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION FEES
On December 14, 2009, the Department of State published a proposed rule in the Federal Register to increase the nonimmigrant visa application processing fees, also called the Machine-Readable Visa (MRV) fee, and Border Crossing Card (BCC) fees. For more information regarding the proposal.
