CAMP/WORK OPPORTUNITIES IN THE UNITED STATES

AMITY

The Amity Intern Teacher Program offers Spanish-speaking university students the opportunity to share their language and culture with primary and secondary US pupils. Participants receive free room and board with an American family, a small monthly stipend, and college level classes to audit. Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 30, be single with no children, and have a conversational level of English.

CAMP AMERICA

Enables students to work as camp counselors in summer camps. They are able to apply for different kinds of camp programs and positions. Participants are paid transportation, room and board, pocket money, as well as some extras. Eleven-week program includes excursion. For more information contact:

IAESTE-U.S. (International Association of the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience).

Reciprocal exchange program arranged through students' College or center providing on-the-job training for students in engineering, architecture, agriculture, mathematics and the sciences who have completed at least two years of university study and are between the ages of 18 and 30. The main requirement is to be enrolled full time or in any 4 year college in the U.S. Your position must be directly related to your field of study. Stipends cover living expense but the trainee must pay travel, insurance and incidentals. Short-term (4) weeks in summer and long-term (3-12 months) placement available. Information in Spain:

YMCA

Provides two types of services:

1. International Student Services
   -Arrival Program. A welcoming and orientation service for foreign students
   -VISIT. A tourist program for foreign students already in the U.S.

2. International Youth and Camping Services
   The International Camp Counselor Program offers work as camp counselors in summer camps for children in the U.S. You must be 20-24. Acceptable knowledge of English is required. International Programs are also offered to children 7 to 15 and youth from 16-25 at US YMCA summer camps. For more information contact:
