The European campus of Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri, SLU Madrid offers over 85 accredited bachelor degree programs in the arts and sciences, engineering, business and health fields. All programs are fully integrated with programs at the St. Louis Campus. SLU Madrid has an enrollment of 650 undergraduate and 30 graduate students each academic semester; and 200 undergraduate and 100 graduate students during the two summer sessions. Approximately 25% of the University's students come from Spain, 40% from the U.S. (all fifty states), and 35% from over sixty-five countries around the world.

Originally conceived as a program for study abroad students, SLU Madrid is now the only full-service U.S. university in Spain. In addition to offering spaces to visiting students from all over the world, each year SLU Madrid admits about 200 first-year students who begin their undergraduate careers with the University in Madrid. Students majoring in Spanish, Communication, Political Science/International Relations, Economics, and Business Administration/International Business can complete these programs in their entirety at SLU Madrid; students majoring in English are required to spend a single semester in St. Louis. All other degree majors transfer after two or three years to either the St. Louis Campus or elsewhere to finish their degrees.

In addition to offering internship and career services to undergraduate students, the Madrid Campus offers master’s degrees in English language and literature and in Spanish language and literature. The master’s of English is a dual-degree program offered year-round with the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and requires one six-week summer session on the St. Louis Campus. The master’s of Spanish, offered on both a year-round and summer-only basis, may be completed in its entirety at SLU Madrid.

Spanish proficiency is not a requirement to apply to SLU Madrid and the majority of classes are taught in English with some sections available in Spanish. SLU Madrid offers an intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program for Spanish and international students interested in improving their English language skills before beginning their undergraduate degree programs. The University operates a housing program that includes University-run apartments and Spanish host family living. We also work with students interested in living outside of the University housing system.
